Total Body Reset Part2

In part one of Total Body Reset we discussed making lists of;

What we like about our selves.

What we don't like about our selves.

What we can control and what we can't.

We also talked about making a plan and some form of accountability.

accountability

Now that we have that base we can start on that plan. 80% of what happens to our body is what we eat and 20% is our activity or calorie burning.

What can we eat to reset our body? First we need to start with what we should eat less of.

PROCESSED FOODS! The number one culprits for attacking our body are processed food which also include empty carbohydrates. Processed food have chemicals in them that prolong shelf life, they are also toxins that can hurt our bodies. Empty carbs which is what a lot of processed foods are, can also be flour tortillas (my weakness is tacos), pasta and white bread.

The three biggest contributors to poor health and an attack on our bodies are:

  1. Processed foods

  2. Processed sugars(ex. Corn syrup)

  3. Empty carbs

While we are on empty carbs, we can talk about good carbs. Good carbs are whole foods that have sustenance. The best example is roots! Root foods like- potatoes, sweat potatoes, radishes, beets, and turnips. What I like to do to get more roots in my diet is to make a stew. There also a lot of recipes out there to make great root dishes.

Like roots, the more whole foods you eat with the 5 different colors of the rainbow, is the simplest rule of thumb with nutrition. Diets and fads are out there and you can read and research and decide what is best for you. My best advice is to do your research, try different options (not extreme), pick something you will stick with and continue to be aware of the effects on the body.

Before you make any major changes, go in to get your annual physical, consult with a doctor and if you can visit a nutritionist or health coach.
